Step 1: Connect to the network listed as "STP-BYOD".
On iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc), the authentication settings will be detected automatically.
Enter the username and password combination that you use to log into school computers with. You will need to "Trust" the certificate after you enter your username and password.
On Android (Samsung, OnePlus, Huawei, Xiaomi, HTC, Google, etc) settings will need to be entered manually.
You will need to enter the following settings:
EAP Method: PEAP
CA Certificate: STP-BYOD (Can be downloaded at the bottom of this page, it must be installed into your Certificate Store)
Identity: Your network username (What you use to log into school computers)
Password: Your network password
Leave everything else blank.
On Windows 10 devices, most settings will be detected automatically:
First, install the certificate at the bottom of this page into your "Trusted Root Certificate Authorities" store. This certificate is only used for validation of the Wi-Fi network.
Enter the username and password combination that you use to log into school computers with. You will be asked if you'd like to continue connecting, select "Connect".
If you use a device with an older Windows version such as 8.1, 8 or 7, you will need to contact IT Support for remote assistance, as by default they do not support PEAP authentication.
On MacOS/OSX (MacBook, Mac Mini, iMac, Mac Pro), most settings will be detected automatically:
Enter the username and password combination that you use to log into school computers with. You will be asked to verify the certificate, where you can select "Always Trust" to make it easier to connect in the future. Alternatively, you can install the certificate found at the bottom of this page before joining the network.
You must install the Smoothwall SSL Inspection Certificate as it is essential for some sites to work properly.
This certificate and installation instructions for a variety of devices can be obtained at https://smoothwall.sccampus.uk:442/getmitm as long as you are connected to one of our wireless or wired networks.
If you do not install the certificate on your device(s), HTTPS errors will prevent you from connecting to some websites.
You must use the network in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy.
Violation of the policy may result in termination of BYOD access or any/all access to ICT services provided by St Petroc's School.
